Loake Evolution combines the classic styling and traditional manufacturing methods for which Loake is renowned with the instant wearability of modern footwear. Evolution uses a new system of construction which gives a degree of comfort and flexibility previously unavailable in a Goodyear Welted shoe, without sacrificing the benefits and wear properties of our traditional welted shoes. All of the shoes in this range are made in our Northamptonshire factory using premium hand burnished calf leathers and are fully leather lined for extra comfort.

Barry Small a.k.a Mr Pediwear, reviews a selection of men’s formal shoes from manufacturers he has visited and sold both on the Internet and in his retail shop. This month we are looking at brogue styles. Selecting one style from each brand, Mr Pediwear highlights the reasons for his choice.
Crockett & Jones
Clifford from their Handgrade Collection represents the art of shoemaking at its highest level, with selected Calf Leather Uppers and Leather Lining. Goodyear Welted with an Oak Bark Leather Sole. Available in Tan Antique Calf and Black Calf in an E fitting. Retailing at £370.00
Trickers
The outstanding 6 hole Piccadilly brogue from the 1829 Collection utilising fine Leathers, with Leather Lining and Goodyear Welted Leather Soles. Available in Snuff Suede, Black Calf, Beechnut Burnished and 101 Burnished. Retailing at £235.00
Alfred Sargent
The brogue style George is fun and practical but has its place on formal occasions. The punching detail gives the two tone effect distinction. Leather Uppers and Goodyear Welted Soles. Available in an F fitting. Retailing at £175.00
Grenson
The new style Underwood has a real modern look. The Brogue detail is kept to a minimum but the highlight by the lacing is excellent. Calf Leather Uppers. Available in an F fitting in Cognac Calf. Retailing at £134.95
Barker
Albert is a Classic Brogue, standing the test of time. The Hi-Shine Leather or Castagna Suede Uppers provide a distinctive look. Available in Black, Brown and Castagna Suede in a G fitting and Black in an E fitting. Retailing at £124.95
Loake
The soft Calf Leather Uppers of the Savoy brogue epitomise the luxury and elegance of the bench Made shoes in the 1880 Range. Calf and Burnished Uppers combined with full leather lining make this shoe a pleasure to wear. Available in Black Calf, Mahogany Burnished Calf and Chestnut Burnished Calf in an F fitting. Sanders
The style which I have always found distinctive is the Ashby brogue with the Polished Toe Brogue Cap and the Matt Leather uppers. Leather Lined. Available in Black and Burgundy and retailing at £111.99

Crockett & Jones
I enjoy the refinement of their classic Oxford range. The Hallam Oxford in selected calf skin is no exception. Available in two width fittings in the colours beechnut and black. Retailing at £255.00.
Trickers
From their 1829 collection, a firm favourite and perennial best-seller is the Regent Oxford . It follows their traditional quality of benchmade shoes. Available in Black Calf and Burnished Beechnut. Retailing at £230.00.
Alfred Sargent
Established as one of the our most popular Oxfords is the Alfred Sargent Epsom. It provides classic styling and with polished Leather Uppers brings to mind a smart business shoe. Fully Leather Lined, it prevents irritation by keeping the feet dry. Available in Black. Retailing at £160.00.
Grenson
From the Rose collection, the Kent Oxford on a new modern last is proving very popular. Each pair is cut from the same skin of the highest quality French Calf. Goodyear Welted. Available in Burnt Pine and Black. Retailing at £208.95.
Barker
The Barker Jardine is a punched Oxford style. I find the Barkerflex comfort system provides the right amount of softness underfoot and is due to the Leather forepart on cork. Available in Black Calf, Cedar Calf and Burgundy Calf. Retailing at £119.95.
Loake
I have discovered the Oxford style Stowe is to my liking because of the slightly elongated toe-cap combined with the closer width fitting. Fully Leather Lined, Goodyear Welted Soles. Available in Black Calf and Tan Burnished.Retailing at £124.95.
Sanders
The Sanders Chiswick is an Oxford in the Autumn, many customers enjoy the Dainite Sole. Calf Leather uppers and Leather lining and available in Black and Tan retailing at £94.95.
