Cheaney Classic Footwear

Joseph Cheaney established the company in 1886, and in 1896, along with his brother Arthur, they moved to the site in Desborough, Northamptonshire, which the factory occupies today. Joseph Humphrey Cheaney, known as 'Dick' Cheaney, the founder's grandson, worked for the company for 51 years, retiring in 1978. He realised that the company's future lay in building up its own Cheaney brand for its home and export markets.  More recently, the company was acquired by the Church family, who continue the traditions and values which the brand is famous for, alongside a sense of contemporary style and progressive development.
